Purchased a bullet camera online, which was received with poor packing and didn't work right out of the box. Seller claimed the issue was with fact I didn't use DVR.
Bought a 5-1 DVR from amazon which was compatible with several camera formats including the one received. Still didn't work and when asked seller for refund, the communication stopped. Tried to get ebay to resolve as per so called 'buyer protection' policy. Ebay refused to get involved and ultimately after request for return , sent the item back to seller.
The seller than paypal'd a partial refund. After 231 past transactions, I've had it with ebay..no more. Their involvement with the transaction problems are non existent. In the past months around xmas, also won by bid a camera for $65 which was never shipped.
contacted seller, who claimed family illness was reason for non ship, and offered to paypal back the amount , IF 'I would initiate the withdrawal', so it wouldn't make THEM look like they'd refuse to deliver. I find this is a clever ploy by sellers who do not get the amount they wanted by the bid process, so , simply refuse to ship. The ebay horror stories abound, so, its time to buy from legitimate sources like Walmart and Amazon, where customer involvement in dispute cases are always solved. Ebay will fall as sure as it rose based on the thousands of complaints aired here and elsewhere.
NO integrity, NO communications that are easily obtained, only constant denials and runarounds. The only way to effectively deal with ebay is like I did, CLOSE your account. Its a message they WILL understand.
