We finally did receive a credit from the seller, no thanks to eBay. They did nothing and have not responded beyond their initial denial of our claim. We closed our eBay account.

We purchased an expensive item from an eBay seller who was supposed to ship UPS so we gave them our shipping address (not USPS address) as there is no rural delivery of mail to our location. The seller shipped it USPS so there was no way it could be delivered.

We tried 4 times to email the seller and they would not respond so we contacted eBay and they gave us their phone number. We called the seller and explained the situation asking them to re-ship our item UPS. They said they would and then did nothing.

We waited a week (and tried calling the twice more but they didn’t answer). Then we contacted eBay again to file a complaint and ask for our money back (over $500 purchase).

eBay refused to refund our money even though they could clearly see the seller had sent it the wrong way and that we had not received our item. I had left negative feedback about the seller and they removed that as well. I wonder if they always remove negative feedback to make their sellers look good?

We will not purchase from eBay again and have closed our account. We had to use our credit card company to get the charge reversed.

Product or Service Mentioned: Ebay Marketplace.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $580.

Preferred solution: eBay to back their buyers and be honest.

I didn't like: Failed in buyer protection.

The Post Office should have called you or notified you that there was a shipment for you. I assume you have a PO Box at the PO?

Feels like you have a claim that the PO should have to pay for reship if they never told you to come and get your shipment. Also, get a CHARGEBACK from your Credit Card; if enough people complain about a seller, the VISA corporation will eventually cut off their selling options.

Always use Paypal to solve Ebay issues, as they are the money system. Ebay gets paid from sellers so top sellers are good business whether they are legit or not.

There is a reason why Paypal split from Ebay, and much has to do with business standards as well as fraud and deceit. There are decent sellers, but Ebay will rarely protect anybody without force from an outside effort such as Paypal or Credit card company etc.

They have been proven to lie and practice fraud, but they weasel their way out with big money and such. Welcome to corporate America!
