I recently experienced a SECOND error by eBay for removing my items that are "listed until sold". The first time they removed my items, the eBay rep stayed on the phone until she put every one of them back to active status. The second time it happened, I reported it to the BBB, because eBay is irresponsible and lie continuously as a normal response to the BBB. eBay claims that I do not have an "identifier" with the items that were pulled from my active page. Huh? I don't have an identifier for hundreds of my items on eBay because I do not have the box that the item came in to know the UPC or MPN number. As a matter of fact, there are probably millions of items on eBay's web site because sellers do not enter this information when selling an item. Here is their reply to the second time they removed my "active until sold" listings. It's a real HOOT!!
Thank you for updating your contact information. I appreciate you taking the time to do this to protect your account. I understand you had a concern with good 'til cancelled listings being removed. I was happy to address this with you.
Good 'til Canceled listings may not be renewed for any of the following reasons:
Doesn't include item-specific information that is required for all listings
Missing a Payment option
Doesn't include a required Shipping option
The Maximum Flat Shipping Rate has been exceeded
The count of active listings has exceeded the site's listing limit
Bidding for this listing has finished
Member has not accepted the User Agreement for PayPal
Real Estate listings are not renewed
Local listings cannot be renewed.
Member Feedback Profile is set to private
Local listings with subscription are not renewable
Listing is under-performing
Zero Insertion Fee media items are not renewed
The site or category no longer supports Multi-SKU items for GTC listings
Seller's account is on hold, has a restriction, or has reached a listing limit
After reviewing a few of the listings you provided, it appears these may not have been renewed due to the lack of a product identifier. For example, the 2007 Power Ranger/Thundercats motorcycle calls out the product as being made by Bandai. Bandai utilizes product identifiers, but there were none utilized in the listing. Here is a list of required product identifiers by category:
In 2015, we began requiring seller to include accurate product identifiers in their listings. To validate the information being provided, we have introduced further checks, including listing blocks. Required Product Identifiers are industry standard pieces of information about an item that helps to identify it on a global scale. This information can be things like UPC (bar codes), MPN (Manufacturer Part Number), Brand Name, Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs), and any other information applicable to that item or category. For more information on this, please see:
Please review your listings and update them with the required product identifiers to avoid any further renewal blocks.
I hope you find this information helpful going forward. We wish you all the best in your future transactions on eBay.
eBay Executive Escalations
THIS IS THE KIND OF NONSENSE YOU CAN EXPECT 24/7 FROM EBAY REGARDLESS OF THE PERSON WHO RESPONDED ANONYMOUSLY TO YOUR COMPLAINT FILED WITH THE BBB. EBAY WILL NOT BE TRANSPARENT OR ACCOUNTABLE FOR RESOLUTIONS BECAUSE AS MANY AS 20 DIFFERENT CUSTOMER REPS ARE INVOLVED IN YOUR ONE PROBLEM. THIS DELAY CAUSES NIGHTMARES FOR ME AND OTHER SELLERS BECAUSE THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME SO OLD AND HAS ALREADY TAKEN ITS TURN FOR THE WORSE. COULD HAVE BEEN ALLUDED, BUT EBAY COULD CARE LESS. HOW MANY SELLERS ON EBAY HAVE "AN IDENTIFIER" FOR EVERY SINGLE ITEM THEY HAVE LISTED ON THEIR ACTIVE LISTINGS PAGE? CAN YOU COUNT TO "ZERO" EBAY OR IS THAT NUMBER OVER YOUR HEAD TOO? I CANNOT EVEN LEAVE A LINK TO THE PRODUCT BECAUSE IT WAS REMOVED AND NO LONGER EXISTS AS AN ACTIVE ITEM.
Reason of review: I HAVE THE BBB & ATTORNEY GENERAL.
