I won a bid on eBay and did not receive the merchandise
|
Feb 3, 2008 Ebay complaint |
I bid on a book on eBay and bingo! I won the bid. I paid through PayPal, by a credit card. I even paid for the Priority Mail. Then, I am sitting tight and waiting, but no book. I contacted the seller, who says, "You bid on 0 of my items." I emailed both eBay and PayPal, several times, to no avail. They keep on suggesting that I contact the seller. What for? The seller already denies my bidding, so what's the point? Finally, I got pissed enough to state to the PayPal that if I don't get results, I will complaint all over the Internet, and will file a dispute with my credit card. Only after that, PayPal informed me of their Dispute Resolution. I had 45 days to file it, and it appeared to me that PayPal was dragging its feet, possibly hoping that 45 days will come and go. Due to my persistence, I was able to file for a dispute within first 20 days. I don't expect miracles though and will probably have to resort to disputing this with my credit card. Isn't this ridiculous, though, that you pay for an item and don't receive it, while PayPal and eBay alike, stand aside and let you communicate with the seller directly? Like they have nothing to do with it?
Glad I have learned a lesson. Will never buy anything either from this seller or from eBay. In the future, I will just go to the library and make copies from a textbook. Will cost less and produce immediate results, and minus the aggravation and being pissed.
FYI: this seller's name is bullieangel4me. Keep that in mind.

I also won an item on eBay, but was informed a week later that eBay had cancelled the auction because the item had been put up for bid by someone who wasn't the owner. I expressed my disappointment to eBay, mentioned that it wasn't my problem if the seller allowed friends to access his stuff without his permission, asked for a refund and figured that was the end of it. To my surprise, the item arrived in the post even whilst PayPal and eBay were supposedly investigating my concerns. My credit card was charged but no one at eBay or PayPal ever alerted me to the fact that the item was being shipped. When I received the DVD boxset, I noticed that it had been shipped from Shanghai and it was clear that it was not an original version of the show as advertised by the seller. At least a third of the DVD's won't play on any of my DVD machines (I have three) and neither PayPal nor eBay will tell me what's going on with my claim. eBay just keeps sending me emails that say exactly (and I mean word for word), the same thing over and over again. Even when I pose a different question, they send me the email that they'd sent previously. So guess what? I am now a loyal fan of Amazon and will do everything I can to avoid eBay and PayPal. They are both out to grab as much money as they can. Corporate greed is alive and well with those two companies. Stay away from them! Really!

This has happened to me on ebay aswell. Paypal will most likely charge YOU a 25.00 fee for processing your claim...which I imagine cost more than the book itself. I would immediately dispute the charges with your creditcard company and let them deal with paypal/ebays crap. In the future, if you are purchasing a book you may want to try amazon...I have purchased many things from their site with no problems, and amazon actually protects the buyer --unlike ebay/paypal.
